Units air defense simulator - VR solution for training machine gunners and PZRK operators

The training complex MVG air defense units from L7 Simulators is an innovative solution for training machine gunners and air defense operators based on VR technology. Air defense simulator, realistic simulations, professional training.

By now, most would probably agree that air defense remains one of the most critical areas of military training. Accuracy and speed of response in it determine the success of the operation, and for us, Ukrainians, also the safety of the population. Expanding the range of professional simulators, we present another revolutionary solution - the training complex of MVG air defense units. This specialized complex is designed to train anti-air fire groups and demonstrates new possibilities of virtual training in the field of air defense.

Overview of the units air defense simulator: functions and purpose

The training complex of the Air Force Air Force UNITS is an advanced virtual training system designed specifically for training machine gunners and air defense operators using VR simulations of combat conditions.

The complex is based on virtual technology UNITS, which provides a high level of realism of simulations. Instructors receive a powerful tool for creating a variety of training scenarios, which allows you to prepare specialists for real combat situations as efficiently as possible.

Functionality of the software

Our software provides instructors with a wide range of opportunities for organizing the learning process. The system allows you to select a variety of types of aerial targets, including drones, aircraft, helicopters and cruise missiles. Each target can be customized individually with its own motion, altitude and speed parameters.

The software of the VR simulator for air defense allows you to pay special attention to the realism of the learning environment. Instructors can choose from a variety of locations - from open areas to urbanized areas with dense development. The system also supports the change of time of day and weather conditions, including wind, rain and fog, which is a critical factor for training in the air defense simulator.

The software includes the ability to programmatically change the aiming devices of the machine gun. Users can work with standard sights, anti-aircraft sights, night vision devices, and specialized night sights. This flexibility allows you to prepare specialists to work in a variety of lighting conditions and combat situations.

Structure of the simulator: mobile and stationary subsystems

The training complex consists of two main subsystems, each of which performs specific tasks in the educational process. The machine gunner's training complex is presented in two versions: mobile and stationary type.

Mobile Type Machine Gun Machine Gun designed for use with the customer's existing weaponry, making it an ideal solution for military units that want to integrate virtual training technologies with existing equipment. The stationary type is equipped with special weapon layouts developed by our specialists for maximum realism of training in the VR environment for air defense.

The training complex of the gunner is an additional module that significantly expands the capabilities of the training system. This complex is designed to train the skills of finding, escorting and targeting targets in virtual space, which is critical to the effective operation of anti-aircraft units.

Technical equipment of air defense simulator UNITS

  1. Mobile machine gun complex

The mobile version includes a compact simulator simulating the operation of an anti-aircraft machine gun, virtual reality glasses and a computer control complex. This configuration provides maximum portability and the ability to quickly deploy in the field.

  1. Stationary machine gun complex

The stationary version includes a specialized turret, a machine gun training layout and a machine gun rack. Each element of the anti-aircraft machine gun simulator takes into account the specifics of different types of machine guns, including Browning M2, DSHKM, Maxim, NSV, KPV and MG 42. This ensures the versatility of the system and the possibility of learning to work with different types of weapons.

  1. Gunner Complex

The gunner's training complex includes virtual reality glasses, a computer control complex and a unique air defense searchlight - an anti-aircraft searchlight layout with an integrated VR module. This component allows you to practice coordination skills between a machine gunner and a gunner.

Innovative solutions for integrated learning

Our company has developed a training complex for the interaction of air defense units units, which combines the capabilities of the machine gun simulator with the training systems of PZRK operators (STINGER, IGLA or PIORUN). This solution allows you to simultaneously train several specialists of different specialties in a single virtual environment.

An integrated approach to training provides for the development of interaction skills between different air defense units. Machine gunners and PZRC operators can work at the same training location at the same time, practicing coordination of actions and allocation of objectives.

Why VR is needed in air defense training: benefits and presence effect

VR technology allows you to reproduce a full 360-degree view, which is impossible to achieve on a conventional monitor. When a target appears from the side or from above, the machine gunner instinctively turns his head and sees it with peripheral vision - just as it does in real combat.

The complex solves a practical problem: how to teach a person to react quickly to air targets. This is especially true for speed target training, when the fighter has only a few seconds to make a decision.

In fact, the first reaction to VR simulators is often skeptical, because “how can you learn to shoot without a real weapon?”. But after the first workout, the opinion usually changes. Muscle memory works the same way, whether with a real machine gun or with an exact copy of it.

In addition, the system allows you to “scroll” the situation several times in a row. Did you shoot down a drone for the first time? You can repeat this same attack until the movements become automatic. In real combat, there may not be a second chance, and every hour of training in virtuality is an extra seconds of reaction that can save lives on the battlefield.
