The head of the miltech group L7, which includes developers of firefight simulators, Elena Dushyna spoke with the journalist of the Informant. In an interview, she told how the new generation of combat simulators work, who and how they are trained on them, and why they are an integral part of the modern defense ecosystem.
In particular, according to Elena Dushyna, the work of L7 is based on feedback from the military.
“There are completely different requests, and we do not go from what we want to create, but from what they want from us. That is, the fighters say - we do... The mechanism of our work now is this: we do, the guys test, give feedback, we finish. This can happen several times,” said the head of the miltech group L7, which includes developers of firefight simulators.
The use of combat simulators is economically beneficial for the state, said Dushina. According to her, for a year of training a thousand fighters, it is about saving 27 billion hryvnias. However, so far L7 does not have a government order, but works with units directly. The fact is that the process of obtaining it is multi-stage and takes a certain amount of time.
“To get a government order, you have to form it. First, you need to determine the need. And it depends on the military units. It is they who should make a request about what they need. This request is sent by the military units to the Main Directorate. The General Directorate makes decisions that will affect all military units. Then a state order is possible. This process is very long. Now it continues,” said Elena Dushyna.
The L7 team continues to develop the technologies of combat simulators, which have already proven their effectiveness in training the Ukrainian military. In parallel with active work with military units, the company remains open to cooperation with government agencies in order to ensure the large-scale integration of innovations into the defense training system of Ukraine.
